We have put together this list of information that may be useful for parents using our camps. You can also check out our FAQs page for more answers.
If you will be attending an Active Adventure Camp please see information on their website www.active-adventure.co.uk
Childcare vouchers is a scheme in which a parent will have part of their salary paid into a “Voucher” account, by their employer and is done so tax free. However these vouchers can only then be used for childcare costs at Ofsted registered camps.
We accept all forms of childcare vouchers. If you require account details please contact us.
Please remember when doing so, to provide a reference of your surname and the title or abbreviation of the camp your child is attending. This is not always possible so dont worry if you are not given the option.
What does your child need?
Every child requires:
– Packed lunch including a morning and afternoon snack e.g. piece of fruit, packet of crisps etc.
– Water bottle
– Sun cream if necessary
– Supporting footwear suitable to go outside
– Suitable clothing to be outside even in poor weather
– If your child has any medical conditions or allergies please bring all appropriate medicines etc. e.g. epi pens
Some camps have swimming pools in this case your child needs:
– a swimming costume
– goggles (if needed)
– swim hat (preferable but not required)
– any flotation aids needed (please inform staff of your normal use of these on arrival)
Some camps run external trips that may require different clothing. Please check on the specific camp page.
What is the camp structure
At most camps children are split into age groups. This divide is normally done at 3yrs – 5yrs 6yrs – 8yrs (if there is a large amount of children) and 9+. If there are fewer children the two older groups are combined.
This is done so that staff can effectively structure suitable activities for the children in their care to avoid children doing activities that are not age appropriate.
This is a very flexible policy, however it is encouraged to all parents as often if a sibling is changed into a different group in order to stay with a brother or sister it normally causes upset for one or other. Our staff are experienced and are particularly good at welcoming new children into groups and ensuring that they meet new friends that often they then meet outside of camp afterwards.
